Fairfield Mountains Chapel is a different kind of church, in a number of ways.  First of all, it is not a church for devotees of only one denomination; it is a congregation that combines believers from many different denominations and sects of the Christian Church.  The Baptists learn from the Lutherans, and the Methodists and Episcopalians learn that they have more in common than they knew.  Pentecostals join us as do persons accustomed to a lot of liturgy.  Our worship services seek to combine evangelical and liturgical elements, as we center our worship on God in all three persons.   Moreover, our congregation is made up of persons from all over the United States.  On a Sunday a number of years ago, persons were asked to identify the state in which they were born, and thirty-five states were represented, as were four foreign countries.  To say that we are a heterogeneous group is an understatement.  Yet with all our “differentness,” we share with all true churches in Christendom the centrality of Jesus Christ, a commitment to Jesus’ Great Commission, and an acceptance of His command for us to “Love one another as I have loved you.”  Our worship services are warm and welcoming, our music uplifting but thoughtful, and I seek to preach sermons to both head and heart, that are both informational and inspirational.  We heartily invite you to worship with us.  Feel free to put on your “Sunday best” or dress casually.  God doesn’t look on the outside; neither do we.  You are as welcome as the sunshine on a rainy day.  Please give us a look.  We would delight to meet you.
